cozy crochet shawl
I love crochet shawls, not only are they a quick satisfying project but they are so versatile. Wether you prefer a chunky yarn or a delicate fingering yarn the possibilities are endless. Shawls are also super easy to style and elevate almost any outfit.
The inspiration
I love a good historical fiction show, everything about them is just so intriguing to me. The Romance, the style of clothing they wore, the simplicity of it all. I recently watched Poldark and fell in love with the character Demelza. Throughout the show she wears a big cozy wrap, and I just knew I had to create a modern crochet shawl version of it.

the yarn
I used Lion Brand Heartland Thick & quick yarn for this pattern. Any of the Thick & Quick yarns will work it will just depend on your preferred color way. This is a super bulky (6) yarn so feel free to use any yarn that meets that weight. Because this is made with a bulky yarn this crochet shawl will be a quick project, making it perfect for market prep, online shops, or even for gifts.
notes
- ch2 counts as a dc throughout pattern. Use a sm at the top of the ch2.
- At the end of rows where a color change occurs, cut current yarn color and attach new color.
- Once your crochet shawl is completed I recommend blocking to the final measurements. I personally prefer to steam block this particular shawl to save on drying time since the yarn is so chunky. Wet blocking will also work just make sure you follow the care instructions for the specific yarn you are using.
