Summer Crochet top
I really love the look of a half sleeve, I think it looks great on everyone! I’ve been wanting to design a light, half sleeve crochet top for a while now, and when I got Lion Brands Comfy Cotton Blend yarn it felt like the perfect yarn for this design. I have a top that I always wear in the summer time that has an eyelet detail along the sides that I knew I wanted to recreate so I added that to the design as well. The ribbed hem and sleeves add that casual vibe that I wanted to go for.
Update: The Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn has been out of stock for a while now, a great alternative yarn is the Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn or any dk (3) yarn.

Seaming
The Meadows Crochet top is made by crocheting the front and back panels, both sleeves, and then seaming everything together. Once all your pieces are made, you will lay them with the “wrong side” facing you and begin by seaming the shoulders, the sleeves and then the sides.
Special stitches
Throughout this pattern you will be alternating between FPdc and BPdc. These stitches are both very similar and will help achieve a “ridged” line going up the side of your top.
fpdc
yo, insert hook from front of your post to the back and back out to the front. Yo, pull up a loop, yo pull through first two loops, yo pull through remaining two loops
Bpdc
yo, insert hook from the back of your work, bring your hook around the front of your post, and back to the back, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through two loops, yo pull through remaining two loops.
notes
- The Meadows top is made by crocheting the front and back panels, both sleeves, then seaming everything together.

Seaming
To seam your top together, lay all your panels flat with the “wrong side†facing up. Line up the front and back panels at the top towards the necklines and seam together, then center both sleeves to the side. Using stitch markers to hold everything together at this point helps. Attach both sleeves, then fold your top in half and seam the sides.
Weave in your ends and your done!
