The Gather Table Runner

The Harvest Crochet table runner

Table runner

This table runner is perfect for any season, but I was especially excited to have it ready by fall. While these colors could absolutely work for year-round decor, they’re exactly what I wanted for a fall dining room table.

I have included instructions for how to customize the length to fit any table. I made my table runner slightly shorter than my table but it’s super easy to add some length or take some away. This table runner would also look great with some fringe on the ends!

Purchase the printable PDF here.

the yarn

I used Lion Brand Pima Cotton for this table runner, however, you could use any cotton yarn for this.

notes

The ch1 and ch2 throughout this pattern do not count as a st.
The length of the runner can easily be customized. I would recommend to make adjustments at the midpoint rows . You can either add hdc rows or take away to make this longer or shorter. (rows 89-100)

  • I highly recommend blocking your runner when finished. I stretched it slightly and used a steamer to block. Final size blocked: 73″ long x 12″ wide
  • Size not blocked: 72″ long x 11.5″ wide

materials

  • 5.5mm crochet hook
  • Lion Brand Yarn Pima Cotton in colors: Vintage (color A) 420 yds, Spice (Color B) 239 yds, Mineral Yellow (Color C) 117 yds. Total yards needed: 776 yds
  • yarn needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors

guage

7sts x 6rows in hdc = 2″x2″

abbreviations

  • ch: chain
  • dc: double crochet
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • rep: repeat

row 1 is very confusing, especially for someone that is not an experienced confident chocheter.

Can I make this wider than 12 inches by adding an even amount of chains?

Hi Cathy, you can make this wider by working your chain in a multiple of 10+4.

O my goodness! I’m sorry I was thinking about the Lily table runner (mom brain). Yes an even number will work.

I am so excited to start this runner. I have 2 left over skeins of yarn to use up and now waiting my 3rd color of lion brand to arrive. I guess I will always have a stock.😁
